Log and Timber Homes Council Steering Committee

The Log and Timber Homes Council Steering Committee is comprised of five leaders in the log and timber home industry voted into their positions by the LHC membership.  The LHC Steering Committee is charged with providing guidance and navigation strategies for the overall membership. Each year, the LHC votes for a new secretary to join the leadership structure and the members move up one position on the leadership ladder.

The purpose of the LHC Steering Committee is to ensure the long-term viability and vision of the LHC. Each steering committee member is tasked with oversight of a certain aspect of the LHC.

Construction Codes & Standards
Chair: Chris Wood, Hearthstone Homes, manages the Log and Timber Homes Council’s awareness of building code changes and how it affects the industry.

 

Education Committee
Chair: Lynn Gastineau, Gastineau Log Homes–manages the educational efforts of the Log and Timber Homes Council, including the development of educational courses for builders.

 

Grading Committee
Chair: Mac Garcia, Expedition Log Homes, manages the councils grading program, which provide designers and engineers of log and timber homes and commercial buildings the allowable stress values they require to build a safe and economical structure that meets the requirements of the nation’s building codes.

 

Ethics Committee
Chair: Mark Elliot, Vice President of Coventry Log Homes, which manages any complaints against Log and Timber Homes Council members, according to the council’s code of ethics.
