Longtime council member HearthStone Log Homes is expanding in East Tennessee, investing $3.9 million in a new facility in Newport and adding as many as 38 jobs, the company recently announced.
The company, which has been crafting log and timber homes since 1971, has outgrown it’s 9,000 sqft. facility in Dandridge, TN, says Steve Hall, vice president at HearthStone Log Homes.
“We’ve outgrown our capacity. We need more space to manufacture,” Hall says.
A new 40,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility will include state-of-the-art CAD-CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) log and timber cutting capabilities. The company has been a pioneer in such technology since 1997.
The new facility will enable the company to increase volume and capacity. The company has built homes for over 4,000 customers nationwide.
Hearthstone’s longevity can be attributed to its talented workforce who have more than 500 years combined experience in crafting log and timber homes. The company also owns its own sawmill, as well as purchasing and managing timber boundaries to control raw material cost and inventory.
All logs and timbers crafted by HearthStone Log Homes are graded and stamped in accordance with Timber Products Inspection, Inc. which ensures their clients of the best quality material available.
